MJK was founded in 1976 by Mike J. Kawcak\, Sr. and Lonnie A. Kawcak. The business' first location was in the 300 block of School Street in Craig\, Colo. There they sold farm equipment\, fencing and a small amount of hardware. In 1978\, they bought Rogers Grain Elevator and built the existing hardware store at 290 Ranney St. The hardware store has gone through three expansions and three remodels to bring it to the size it is today\, approximately 11\,000 sq ft.\nIn 1985\, MJK Sales and Feed\, Inc became an Ace Hardware store. Ace Hardware is now our major supplier. We have many other suppliers for the culvert\, fence\, rock\, paint\, lumber\, etc. \nLonnie and Lorraine Kawcak now are the owners. As your local Ace Hardware\, our store is a member of the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry. Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4\,600 stores in 50 states and more than 70 countries. As part of a cooperative\, every Ace Hardware store is independently owned.
