As of December 2009 Peter Fleps became the new owner and would like to welcome you to his new adventure. Foreman Ron Schaefer and Manager Cheryl Schaefer along with the rest of the staff look forward to meeting you as well.
Our spread is nestled up against the banks of the Elk River on one side and 6 million acres of the Routt National Forest on the other. You'll have direct or easy access to all the activities and splendors that this majestic wilderness has to offer. Horseback riding, fishing, hiking, river rafting, rock climbing, winter sleigh dinners, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and snow mobiles are directly available or within easy reach of your base camp here at the ranch. At the end of your day, you can sit back and star gaze in our hot tub - just steps from your cabin. Take in the gorgeous scenery and keep your eyes open for elk and other wild life.
Don't forget that we are just a short drive from the world famous ski resort town of Steamboat Springs. Steamboat Springs offers not only some of the best snow in the world, but it also offers great shopping, dining, and nightlife along with a wide array of music, cultural festivals and events year round.
On the 40-minute drive from Steamboat Springs to the ranch you'll travel along the Elk River where you're certain to see some of the magnificent elk in the area.
When you arrive at the ranch you'll be able to settle down in one of our cozy cabins, catch your breath and just enjoy the peace and quite of this pristine setting.
We invite you all to come visit us. Peter and his staff look forward to meeting you here at the Elk River Guest Ranch.
