After retiring from the U.S. ski team in 1985, Jace Romick began designing and building fine handcrafted furniture. His ranch background and love of Steamboat’s natural surroundings helped him create elegant yet rustic pieces that brought the Mountain West into homes around the world.
In 1992, Jace Romick opened his first showroom, Into the West, in downtown Steamboat Springs. As Jace’s reputation grew, Kim Ladehoff joined him and brought new vision to the business. Kim, with her degree in business and an excellent eye for design helped Romick’s grow from a 1,000 sq. ft. showroom for Jace’s handcrafted furniture to what is now a 6,500 sq. ft. showcase for western living. The new building at 402 Lincoln Ave. houses carefully selected and exclusive, high end furniture lines as well as home accessories from well known craftsmen and artists.
