The Tread of Pioneers Museum is now open after an extensive expansion project. Our exciting new exhibits feature the history of Steamboat Springs and Ski Town USA®.
The 1908 Queen Anne-style Zimmerman House is the heart of the Tread of Pioneers Museum, where a turn-of-the-century kitchen, dining room, parlour and bedroom take you back in time to imagine life as the pioneers lived it. You'll also explore exhibits tracing the history of Steamboat Springs, skiing, Native American arts, children's toys, and more. Our Wild West room features outlaw tales and an extensive firearms collection. Don't miss our rotating exhibits, highlighting the historic people and places that embody Steamboat Springs' colorful heritage, our kids scavenger hunt, or our unique museum store. Check our website, for current programs, events, and tours. Admission: $5 adults; $4 seniors (over 62); $1 children (12 and under) Routt County residents are FREE!
