and so we continue...
“Oil and coal will be our staple for energy past our lifetimes”. Yes they will be a staple...good, affordable and reliable.
“We owe it to our grandchildren to move in a direction of a better form of energy for the future “
Is this what our grandchildren are getting in exchange for the 18 TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT WE ARE SADDLING THEM WITH? Debt to bail out banks, Social Security, Medicaid, government pensions and to provide free health care? A BETTER FORM OF ENERGY...LIKE WHAT? NUCLEAR?
WIND? (wind energy is about as reliable as a pot smoking employee)
“We owe it to our grandchildren to move in a direction for a safer country to live in for the future. “
Here is that “OWE” thing again…IF WE OWE ANYTHING TO OUR GRANDCHILDREN IT IS THE RIGHT TO NOT BE ENSLAVED BY THEIR ANCESTRAL MARXIST NONSENSE.
“The larger group of people are trying to move us in a positive forward direction, and for this I am thankful.”
The larger group of people are now contributing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to this country's upkeep costs. And if by positive forward direction you mean the one DOWN RIVER- TOWARDS THE DEATH DROP WATERFALL...well we might have found the one thing we agree on- excluding the thankful part.
“The smaller group is trying to keep us in darkness. The smaller dog barks the loudest. I feel sorry for them, for they cannot see the light.”
The smaller dog might be barking to try and WAKE YOU OUT OF YOUR CANNIBOID STUPOR. Maybe to get you to open a window, let some of that light in, and some of this wretched pot smoke out.
Well Mr.Ronis.......let's go line by line here.....this won't take long.
Is not our health and the health of our environment more valuable than oil and coal? “
No. It takes electricity to purify water and without pure water humans die of all sorts of nasty diseases (to say nothing of cotton mouth).
It takes electricity, oil, and gas to create an environment suitable for modern humans to live. Don’t believe it? Try it sometime!
It takes electricity to provide health care without which even the most curable diseases are often fatal.
It takes fuel and electricity to move and store food, without which the current supply chain would collapse and many would starve to death.
The conclusion is that if we value our health and our environment we must value oil, and coal. Our survival depends on it.
“How about the future health of our planet and its occupants? Not more valuable than oil and coal?”
How about it? Is oil, coal, and gas production harming the future health of the planet? Got proof? If you have anything more than emotional chicken-little outbursts to back this assertion up please provide it....and all the metrics by which you arrived at your conclusion please.
If we follow the water and supply chain reasoning (see above) and decide to cut off the production of oil, gas, coal, and by extension ...power, there will be far fewer planet occupants to worry about.
The production of oil, gas, and coal enables our current population and its standard of living. The two are closely intertwined. Reduction in either one will result in a drop in the other.
And just what do you mean by valuable? Let’s roll that subject up and light it off...shall we? Do you mean the planet occupant's intrinsic value in terms of their contribution to the economy? Their contribution to society perhaps? Are they producing more than they consume? Are they parasites like the ones you will find in unpurified water?
“What about the safety of our children at school, and our freedom to walk down the road safely? Not more valuable than a background check, and a limited number of bullets in a magazine?”
If our children are truly unsafe at school....perhaps we should shut the school down? Recent history suggests that deliberately concentrating helpless victims in one location is attracting violent perpetrators. And this business of trapping them there during the event is aiding the carnage. Walking down the road safely is a right you can take advantage of immediately, by ARMING YOURSELF against those who would do you harm while you walk, it is perfectly legal for you to do so. But if you would like to wrap yourself in background checks, go right ahead. You will likely find walking a bit more difficult. As far as magazine capacity is concerned...many value accuracy over speed...quality over quantity. But magazines are just like unmanned government drones -quantity has a quality all of its own.
