HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I am sure that this is, in fact, a "serious problem," but it is just plain hilarious. Thanks CDP and more importantly the DEA for providing me with a solid 10 minutes of laughter. But really, this is rediculous. If anyone is questioning whether or not the USA has a drug problem, see above article ^^. This is getting out of hand, folks. Stop putting random chemicals in your nose, and mouth. They will most likely get you high and/or result in death or psychosis. Pathedic.

There is so much that is wrong with this letter I don't even know where to start... First of all, Mrs. Gotchall clearly reads the paper (as this is a letter to the editor,) but obviously this person consistently skips over the MCTA meeting announcements that are always printed. I always see announcements for their PUBLIC meetings in which they invite the community, just like the commissioners meetings, city meetings etc. You asked, "Does this board actually do anything?" By the way, not only was that a completely vague question, but it is also open for interpretation. If we both attended a board meeting, your views on whether or not they "do" anything may be different than mine (which I will assume we would indeed have varying opinions.) I suggest that you attend one (or all) of these meetings to be the judge yourself. If you don't feel that the board accomplishes an appropriate level of goals, voice your opinion with our county government, who oversees the MCTA. Heck, since you clearly think you could have done a better job, why didn't you apply for the recently vacant Director position? With your lack of research prior to sending this letter to the editor in mind, I will assume that you have neither the education or experience to qualify for such a position. They also had an assistant to coordinator position available, did you think about applying for that to make a difference in this organization? Look, I understand that the town of Craig has many issues, but the blatant ignorance gets really old. I think the person who wrote this letter should be embarrassed for their lack of research and general awareness. Also, I think the accusational statements in this letter are borderline libel =/

My favorite liquor store in town. The staff are so polite and helpful! The selection in the store is wonderful, the owner (or whoever handles purchasing) has got this down. Great selection of beer (domestic, imports, and microbrews), wine, liquor, shots and shooters... just about everything!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! My favorite restaraunt in town by far. Actually, when I go out of town and get Italian food, I always think, "Geez, Carellis's is way better than this!" The service is extremely laid-back, but hands down my favorite service in town. Mmmmm I know what I'm having for lunch!

colorado_22 3 years, 10 months ago on Whittle organizers: New alcohol policy had little impact

I refused to go to Whittle the Woods. I think it's funny, on the Craig Daily Press website they have a poll right now about how people thought that the alcohol changes affected the event. A good percentage have already reported that they thought the change was positive... and an almost equal number stated that they didn't go. Yep, I didn't go etiher. Yeah let's fill the city park with all of the obnoxios residents of Craig, a B-rate (at best) band, and sit there all day SOBER? Haha I don't think so. The only reason this event USED to be mildly entertaining is because you could be totally wasted all day; and then, only then can one handle thy residents o' Craig all in one place, and in the sunlight. I maybe would have attended if the vendors sold regular, actual beer, however I refuse to shell out money all day for overpriced 3.2 beer.

Darn, wish I would have logged on last night and read this. Thank you Craig Daily Press! I was wondering why people should have to pay $40.00 to $60.00 to hear the leader of our great state speak. The subject matter of the speech holds much value for all of us, and I found it sad and unfortunate that it cost such a high price to attend. Today's economic times are sad and bleak, many people stuggling to put food on the table. The last thing we need is to completely disable constituents from being able to hear our political officials from speaking. I appreciate CDP for recognizing this, and taking steps which enabled residents to attend the event. Thank you.

Nadja, Bravo. You completely read my mind, and your statements support exactly how I feel on this issue. Seriously, why does everyone feel so entitled. I mean, our government is mostly to blame because they completely enable this behavior, but I tell ya as a full-time worker and a full-time college student who gets ZERO breaks and ZERO assistance, it gets really old supporting the weak links of our society. I am in my early 20's, and I decided at a young age that I didn't want kids until I was closer to 30. All of my friends who have kids get endless assistance and have no need to support themselves or to be self-sufficient, while I get up every day and bust my tail to make ends meet. Shame on our government. And to all you taxpayers out there; stay strong, for we are being sucked completely dry.

I really hate to say it BUT... What ever happened to "survival of the fittest?" No wonder our country is filled with such unhealthy, unskilled, and uneducated people. We are the only country that puts fourth such a rediculous effort to keep these people alive and on their feet. At least there are honest, hardworking people who get up every single day (before noon!) and work our tails off to support the weaker links of society. Now, in all fairness (kind of), I have never had such a problem with this ugly truth of our societal infastructure, except for now. In this recession all of us are struggling. Especially those of us hard workers who are self-sufficient and support ourselves. We get no breaks, or assistance, while many others are relaxing on the couch on our tax dollar. No wonder you all want unversal healthcare so bad- just another program that will benefit those people who CHOOSE to be unhealthy and live on the hardworkers' buck(s). P.S. You're Welcome!

Kerrie, Thanks for your kind words of support! I wish I would have had you around when I was in Fort Collins :) Interestingly though, I took about 6 months off from college, then began to complete my degree online through CSU Global. I am now 7 weeks from completing my degree in business management, and I am so excited! I moved back to Craig after I dropped out, so I am living here again. About 1 year ago I got a great job which I love, and my degree completion will enable promotions and such, so it all worked out and I am happy. Thanks again for the support, it means a lot!
