they are a great bunch of kids with alot of talent...however I dont think its fair to blame the coach. There has been a lot of turn around on the coaching side of boys basketball. It is going to take awhile to build it up. I support and encourage the kids....seems that your awfully critical of both boys and girls coaches....maybe some patience and understanding might be more productive than negativity.
personally Anitadunnce...I dont want it about me, no I am not one of the parents but I do attend the games and I do watch do you...I hope the boys get a great coach!
Anitadunnce I dont see what this has to do with vermillion and I's discussion to agree to disagree....your points have nothing to do with our conversation. Thanks vermillion I see your point and respect it, and thank you for seeing mine
always has to be someone to be passive aggressive....I got the dig Vermillion. And I take it with a grain of salt as you dont know me, my son or what they won or lost. Again I say have fun kids, pretty soon you will be in the working world and get to be angry all the time and post negative comments to vent your frustrations. Glad this doesnt mean enough to hurt my feelings!
I agree that sometimes the parents can get involved when they shouldnt however being a parent myself its hard to know when that is! I wouldnt want to be a coach for any amount of money and I think what they do get is very minimal. You have to not only have a love of the sport but a love of kids. I had a child go thru school here and he played 3 sports so he had many coaches I never once went to a coach I let my son take care of it. Was I always happy with what was going on ...no I sure wasnt but as a parent I was there and supported my son and his team mates. Good Job Coach Hafey and football coaches I appreciate your time and time spent away from your families and all the other coaches that my son had. Boys Basketball Team I hope you get a coach who you respect and he respects you back your a good bunch of kids and I look forward to watching you playing in the future. I am sure my post will be up for ridicule and I dont know anything but I was there with my son and I continue to go to activities at MCHS for support rather than to sit home and ridicule. Sports in high school should be fun, the kids should be there because its fun, when its not fun we need to figure out why. Just my opinion I am entitled to mine just as everyone else and any replies wont make me change my mind....GO BULLDOGS!
This is a great story!! I can not think of a more deserving family and the pictures of Camie are absolutely precious...I have the amazing wonderful privelage of knowing her and she is a very very special girl!
I applaud you for what you are saying everyone deserves to be recognized for their accomplishments....however you have stated some false things. My son played football for four years and he never once played when they had new uniforms, this year is the first for the new uniforms to my knowledge. Not all athletes get a story about where they are going and how they are doing....many times this is initiated by the school they attend now or their coaches from high school....so maybe the band teacher needs to notify the paper of these things, I am not sure maybe he has but just an idea. Also sometimes different sports or groups get things because they are out fund raising...so maybe this would be an idea for the band. Also alot of signs you see around town are made by parents or businesses that the athletes have went into and asked for donations...as a parent I know I made many signs and put many hours into decorating for games, team dinners and all of that stuff. I also find it not fair to say that music students do better than athletes....I am not sure if I have the wording exactly right on that...I think any kids involved in anything will help them stay focused so they can play in the band, on a team, debate in speech or whatever. I applaud your efforts once again and congratulations to all doing so well in band and music, however please don't take away from it by being critical of another group....good luck to all kids in all they are doing!
I agree sometimes its a name game ....but to say its always that way is not a fair statement!! My son worked his tail off to play the 2 years of junior high he did and the 4 years of high school and trust me my last name means nothing, I am a single mom who never married, I have no money and no social standing in the community and I know the coaches enough to say hi when I pass them!! So a blanket statement like that is not fair to make, and yes its not fair sometimes...the lesson I taught my son from playing sports either city, high school or whatever is life is not fair...if you quit everything that is not fair or is tough....life is going to be a long miserable road for you! This is not advice just sharing what I taught my son! :)
I would never make my kid play a sport or do any extra curricular activity they didnt really want to do.....my kid however loved the sport more than enough to let anything make him quit.....I am very proud of him because if you start in high school quitting things you dont like, it could be a long life for you. Not going out I think is different, your not quitting or not to me. I think every sport has some kid dis satisfied with a coach...no one can please everyone and I do think the coaches have made some bad decisions but ultimately my son chose to play and play at his best ability to spite everything else....I chose to back him and support him. What else can you do....my heart goes out to all the kids struggling but all I can say is suck it up and do it in spite of them.
I agree altitude....you got to stick it out!! It is tough, its a tough game and sometimes you just have to dig in and do it!
